We Definitely Had Fire

Well, the installation of this VQ35 is still giving us trouble.  Sparky came over last night and worked on several issues.  One useful add was the connection of the OBDII port.  This allows us to get information from the ECU.  From this we found several troubles.  One specific one is the Camshaft position sensor.  The ECU gave us a faulty signal in Sensor A.  When we looked at that Sensor, sure enough, the pins were bent.
So, we pirated the sensor from the overported motor, installed it, and then reviewed the ECU error codes.  Check that problem off the list.  We then moved to try and start the motor.  We tried several variants and got this:

Argh!!!

In a move that I now think was in desperation, the transmission position switch pin was grounded to fool the engine into thinking it was in Park.  We then tried to start  again(Sorry no video).

What we got was an initial grind then,  Zoom!  Yah engine start! Then, dang smoke, off, off off.  A substantial amount of white smoke billowed out from the right side of the motor.  Upon inspection both the ECU and Alternator fuse were blown.  No obvious source of the smoke was apparent, but a more substantial review is needed.  At this point we called it a night

So, we still have some work to.
