Day 2 Checkers

The good news on Queen's hand is stitches and pain meds were all that was needed.  That and plenty of rest, so we are all delighted it was not more serious.  That is the biggest news of the day.

The cars finished up 42nd and 44th.  The D was ahead until almost the last lap when Lugnut went zipping past not just the D but the car in 43rd place as well.

Bad news

We suffered our first real injury today in a pit accident. Queen's hand was cut badly on the Z.  The EMT's were on scene VERY quickly and got her taped up.  Torch and her are off to the ER, where we hope stitches and pain Meds are all that is needed.  We are all sending out best wishes.

Day 2 start

We have a clear day with a forecast of clouds (no rain) and a high of 73. Nice!

Both cars are on the grid ready to start. Muddy in the Z and Picasso in the D.

Looking forward to a good day.

Day 1 done

We had a very clean day today. I have no idea how the early part ran because I arrived late (but I did bring the top to the D so I wasn't a complete slacker).

I followed Tow in the Z after I got here just to have the skys open up and having the track shut down for rain. We all cleared to the pits while we waited for the Lightning to go away.

Around 4:30 the skys were declared clear and everyone assembled on pit row for another stint of racing.

Lugnut in the D and I in the Z ran clean till the checker. I never saw Lugnut on the track which since he was in the slower car meant I didn't embarrass myself.  Not having practiced yesterday I was pretty sloppy when I first went out, but found my pace and ran hard with the leaders to te checker.

Both cars are getting oil and a once over, but seem to be in really good shape.

On the food front, Cindy took it up another notch. Appetizers are out and pizza is underway.

Second Round

After the repairs Tow and Torch put down some good laps.  At the end of Torches laps we pulled him in and we begain the race pad swap.

As we started that, Tow called in that he was low on fuel.  So, we called him in as well.  On Tow's in lap the idiot light came on for low voltage.  Tow was able to get to the pits and we quickly found the alternate retaining bolt failed.  So, crew sliped and worked on both problems.

Lugnut was able to do a quick pad change and Picasso slash of fuel the Z pioleted by Muddy was on its way.

Shortly after the D got the belt repaired, rain gear istalled, and fueled; Queen was on her way.

First stint Completed

The D was to come in first.  However some miss communication hapen and the Z hit the pits first.  It turned out to be a good thing.  The Z was suffering from a right caliber trouble.  The inner seals failed and break fluid was all over rim.

Jumping on this we pulled from our collect of break parts and replaced it.  In the mean time the D did come in and a smoothly transition from Piccaso to Tow occured.

The brakes exchange on the Z got completed and now Torch is doing the rounds.  On the bad side we have just determined that a emergency set of brakes were put on the car.  When the Z hits the pits we will need to do another pad change if it keeps dry.

Vodden Race Start

The day starts out well. We just sent out Queen in the Z and Piccaso to start the race.  The weather for now is holding, but some storms is comming in and we should see some showers this afternoon.

Well enjoy the dry for now.

And then the Rain

Practice was going along well.  We had some interment rain in the morning.

But now it is dumping.

Lugnut was in D and got drench.  I think we are done for the day.

Tech Completed

We went into tech on are schedulded time.  Both cars got a A class zero lap penalties.

After a nice lunch we are now cycling both cars.

We've Landed at Vodden

Tiki is up and we have labded.  First few laps put in for the D.  We'll run the D and the Z this afternoon.

We are just at pit out on the East row.

Headed to Tunderhill

We lauched!

Its about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Dublin HQ. We should land around 8:30am.  The thought is to roll the D off the trailer and hit the track.  We'll see how that plan goes!
