Lugnut did spend the afternoon stringing, and triangulating the D's suspension points. By the time, we took the lunch break, the answer to the car weigh balance was still not solved. Thanks to Z-Chef, we enjoyed meatball sandwiches to refocus us. So, when we did get back to work, we quickly found much of the trouble. It was notices that the swaybar were loaded more than you would expect a static car to be. So, when the sway bar was disconnected the car's balance improved. Here is the numbers from the scale:
These numbers still mean that we have some work to do. So for now we can call off the Grim Ripper, (this time.)
As for the Z, work also continued. The Count came over, and he was able to fix the rear wheel bearing. Picasso, disassembled the front and got the front wheel hub and spindle off. Upon review Torch found that the bearing not only failed and befitting the car's name seized the bearing and was spinning on the bearing. This picture is of the back side of the hub and spindle. The debris on the edge is the remaining of the shavings and molten elements of the spindle.
After the great work of this weekend we do have a good direction to go. Unlike Sparky's edited checklist, we are not as far along. However, we now have clear directions to go, so all is well.
