Race Prep Update

Lugnut, Torch, and I put into  work last weekend to get us ready for Vodden.  We worked on many of the items on the previous list plus a few more.  From that list here are the one completed:
  • Put isolator on the transmission cooler pump - (tire rubber batch) .
  • Replace Rear links rod ends - (I have the replacements)
  • Remove seat harness (Autopower quoted $65 for SFI recert.)
  • Replace radiator cooling fan - (I have a new fan ordered)
  • Replace jack point running boards
The items that still need to be completed includes:
  • Design a tow hitch - (Strap Ordered from Summit)
  • Replace bumper - (Cleaned up and ready to mount, need tow strap in place to finish)
Then, on an alternate list, there are several electrical issues that needed to be addressed.  I have split that list into the need to have and the nice to have.  All of these are in Sparky's wheelhouse (, so work on these will likely come during the week.

So, the need to have we have:
  • Reviewing and the rework the engine harness.  (Note: number 4 sparking plug cable was visually and audibly arcing when the car finished at Sonoma).
  • Add in Switch for driver cooling system.
  • Change electrical connector on the new Radiator Cooling fan.
On the nice to have list:

  • Figure out what is occurring with the Power Steering.
  • Enable the OBDII reader to get ECU error codes.
  • Adjust the fuel gauge to be less sensitive.
We should see Sparky this week, so a few of these items might be quickly removed.  Once that is done, we will be on to the race prep punch list.
