  1. Muddy... Hadn't thought about wipers on the D, guess I don't have all my parts yet and I'd better scrounge up some more toggles. Can you make sure the dash panel has enough room for the switches and I'll figure out what I need to do to make them work.

  2. Sparky,

I was going through the Lemon rules and added the wipers to our do list. The wipers are a low priority, however, if it rains that could change.

As for the dash, I have Mark working on manufacturing a panel. It is similar to the Z's and I have attached the image to the post. Let me know if I missed something.

  3. I figured out how the D works and it is similar (but of course different) than the Z. I'll set the switches up in the same config (on-off, high-low) as the Z. In the process of looking at wipers again, I think I figured out what is wrong with the Z parking function (wipers back to the windshield when off) so I may fix that while I'm splicing wires.

For this race are we running with the stock dash for tach and fuel or do you want me to come up with a way to wire them up as well?

  4. Sparky,

The plan was to run with the stock dash. I had several offers to sell it, but thought it best to keep it. The stock dash comes with:
    Tach
    Fuel Gauge
    Water Temp (Relative scale.)
    Speedometer
Mileage counter (add 100K to any reading)

Yeah we carry extra weight with the speedo and mileage counter, but oh well.

As for mounting, the cross dash support will be going back in, so the mounting points will work. We will then bolt the second dash to the center support. Then, Throw Rod plans to tie in the roll cage to that bar to stiffen the front part of the cage.

  5. I like the "keep the dash" plan... Let me know when you are ready for more work.

  6. It appears that work will happen every weekend up to the race. For this weekend Throw Rod is planning on coming by to continue the work on the roll cage. (I will be in and out on Soccer duty.) If everything goes to plan Throw would need one more day on the cage to do some odd and end.

So, we are still looking like next weekend would be a good weekend would be the earliest we can plan on some electrical work. If you need a weekday let me know.
