Post Race Review

Last weekend Lugnut, Torch, and I had a chance to go over the cars post Sears Pointless Race.  Reviewing the cars, there is the obvious trouble of various door, and front bumper damage to the both cars.  We were specifically not kind to the Z's front left bumper.  Between day one tearing of the tow strap on the first lap, the swipe of the K-rail on my little foray in the early laps on day two, the hooking of the wheelwell easier on day three, and the outright  bumper car action on the closing laps of the race.  We can safely say the front right needs some help. To fix this, the sheet metal guy will need to pull the fender and see what reshaping can be done.  The use of Mjolnir might be too much, but it might be close.

On the good side the bumps appears to be the worst of the battle damage.   A post race compression test was performed.  The results were promising:

These results do, mean that both engines are good enough and can be used for the next challenge.  Of note we did find some troubling signs of early detention on the Z.  When the spark plugs (from cylinder 1, 2, and 3) were pulled they showed electrode and insulator tip damage.  The guess is this happened during first day's practice.  This is something that we keep an eye on going forward.
(Plugs laid out as 1, 2, 3, and new plug)

As for other parts, we seem to get out with little other issues.  Here is the list of work that showed up:

So, all in all not that bad.
