All set up- now to prep the cars

The Z is leaking power steering fluid, so lug it is starting on that.

Also, the crankshaft sensor on the new motor, for som reason Nissan made the lowest part of the car. We had plenty of problems in the last race with it, so Muddy has me wiring up spares so we can swap one out easily if needed.

At the track

A non-event filled trip, the best kind!

Daws has some electrical problems, but the races cars are all good.

More when camp is setup

Off to the track

The weekend has begun.  It really began yesterday, but we were all packed up by 6 and so a relatively early night.

6:30 am and the RV, Daws, and Pansy are rolling to the track with gear and cars in tow.

Touch Up

Final Work Weekend

Lugnut, Torch, and I went to work this last weekend finishing up the work.  Alignment, final checks, and buttoning up the cars were on order.

Work went well and we were able to get through it quickly, so the team roared into another project.  After 10 years of racing one does seem to collect quite the collection of spare parts.  As of last weekend, I had 4 engines and 6 transmissions that were not and will not be in any cars.

So, with some help, a demolition party was started.  Some interesting finds were uncovered, but all were a bit gruesome.

There was so much that work continued even outside.

In the end, it was quite the scene with two dismembered blocks, and three transmission parts spread through my back yard.  The recycling of those parts will be for another day.  Now we are focused on this coming weekend.

Banksy Strikes Again..... Well, not in Dublin this time.

Many of you do not have the pleasure of crawling under our cars and seeing the internal workings of a finely oiled machine.  For if you did that, you would see some unique art presumed to be performed by the notorious artiest Banksy.  Here is an early work:

Now how this happens is that, we have had our fair share of trouble with transmission.  When we do, the only solution to the trouble is to open them up.  To do perform that task, the project requires a lot of clean space in which the Dublin shop is notoriously not.

So, the transmission gets shipped to a quiet, "clean" place in Ben Lomond.  Some say, this scruffy nerf herder, Banksy fella lurks in the dark Santa Cruz woods and invades shops from time to time to tag transmission.  The proof of this rumor it confirmed by all the returned transmission tag labeled by Banksy:

I bring this up because Banksy's work has been spotted again.  This time however not on transmission but in an auction house in London.  One Banksy painting was sold for £1.04 million.  Then this:

Let's hope the next rebuild transmission Banksy tags doesn't do that.
